Re-Gifting

"In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you." Matthew 5:48 (MSG)

As a kid I can remember counting the gifts under the tree and trying to see how many were mine. Then I had to shake them thinking that somehow I could figure out what was in the carefully wrapped box. That was a lot of Christmases ago. I am all grown up now, kinda on the short side but grown nonetheless. I chose to put on Christ 35 years ago and have never regretted it for a minute.

Our Father gave more than we can ever begin to totally understand but it is so much fun to read about Him, see how He lived and treated others, and then to try to be The Gift to the rest of the world. We need to unwrap the greatest gift, His Word, and re-gift Him to everyone. Look for opportunities to give Jesus. Give the gift of warmth as a hug or smile to a visitor on Sunday morning. Maybe it might mean listening to a co-worker who has been carrying a hurt for many years. It might mean helping someone homeless with a cup of hot cocoa on a bitter cold day.

I know I can never out-give Him but I sure have a great time trying! Gotta run...I see someone that needs some loving!
