I began volunteering at Crisis Assistance Ministry in 1993, and saw first hand how many personal disasters can be avoided if others are willing to help. The difference between success and failure could be as simple as a helping hand. Wow! I could relate to that!
Gary and I had married in college, started our business and had our first child all within three years. We knew what it was to be stressed by the traumas of everyday life. My mother-in-law and my mother came to our aid MORE than once. That's the way they were. They helped anyway they could.
Losing these two wonderful ladies hurt deeply.
I determined to take my pain and turn it into something good! Pass on their gift for helping others! Pass on the lessons these women taught me.
The idea was simple: Honor those that make a difference in life, and help those in need.
I found that others felt the same way!!! Our first luncheon was held in 1997 and this year marked our 14th year with over $100,000 collected to help others through Crisis Assistance Ministry.
Praise God for loving, giving hearts that seek to do good with their lives! These women are carrying on and building a legacy of love. I thank each one of them and hug them with my heart!
